Today, we have just released a single entitled, “A Period and a Broken Line.” It is the acoustic version of the track and it is a standalone single. Disco Waves is an Indie Rock band from the Philippines who is currently gaining grounds in the local music scene. They are currently on the process of creating their EP to be released anytime this year and would contain 6 original English tracks all recorded, mastered and produced by themselves. Anyway, let me talk about the recording process. I used an ordinary brand less microphone for vocals and the acoustic guitar. Also, I used a Fender Acoustic Guitar for the song. We recorded it in our living room; it’s quite a wide open space. We only used a four channel mini mixer plugged directly into a computer and used Adobe Audition for recording it. The song is all about a person’s belief and goals in life which he thinks is unstoppable. I’m not saying that it is the best song in the whole world but it is worth listening so, check it out. The world is aching to hear real music, to give them a break from the industries monopoly of fake artists and synthetic songs that the radio is playing. Some are hypnotized and are now conforming to their so – called norm, some are defiant and remained to what they believe and stand firm with their principles. Those who lay waiting should wait no more. Slowly but surely, fresh new artists are rising up from the haze, realizing the truth and adopting the ways of their rock forefathers. Telling them not to sell out, not to confirm but communicate and establish a contact with people who are dying to hear real music. Such honesty to self and to the songs they make is required for these to come to pass.

Disco waves, all hailing from the northern part of the deep south Philippines, are a group of four young men, willing to dedicate their lives to create real music that is honest and raw. With complete disregard to the compromise every artists is doing nowadays, they strive to write music that people would relate into and would understand, making them feel that they and the people are one in music. This is the formula that would eventually return the real music back in the scene. Let us wait and see.
